Opening a company in a free trade zone in China
A Free Trade Zone (FTZ) is an economic zone where companies can operate under special policies designed to facilitate and promote imports, exports and general trade. China’s FTZs allow for faster and more streamlined customs processes and offer huge space for warehousing, supply chain management, procurement, distribution and handling. Trading companies (WFOEs) registered in these special economic zones are exempt from tariffs on goods first imported into China and pay a lower corporate income tax of 15%.
